After cleaning up spaces across Vallejo — including the Glen Cove waterfront, downtown waterfront and portions of the Napa Valley Vine Trail — Rooted in Vallejo is expanding its community efforts with organized hikes. Rooted in Vallejo began their cleanups in August 2025 and its goal remains to keep Vallejo greener and cleaner from shoreline cleanups to neighborhood beautification, one project at a time. Camille Salazar, along with Erin McGarry and Alejandro Bras, launched the Vallejo Hiking Club with the goal of creating an inclusive hiking group open to participants of all ages and experience levels.
