In a statement issued by the Registrar, Dr. (Mrs.) Chukwuka Icha, the university said applications are open to candidates who selected UNICAL as their first-choice institution in the 2026/2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored a minimum of 150. The institution also stated that candidates who did not initially choose UNICAL but wish to study at the university are eligible to apply, provided they meet the minimum score requirement and effect the necessary change of institution through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
