Perhaps, maybe, it’s not an open-and-shut case with Texas Tech Red Raiders quarterback Brendan Sorsby’s eligibility. The NCAA banned Sorsby for a gambling scandal that found he placed bets while playing for the Indiana Hoosiers, Cincinnati Bearcats, and even in the Lone Star State via out-of-state proxies since committing in January. Some of those bets were even on the games his team played in. Sorsby is suing the NCAA in hopes of playing during the 2026 season, enlisting Jeffrey Kessler and a second, seemingly extremely powerful politician in West Texas.
