Shiveluch Volcano (Kamchatka): Actively Growing new Lava Dome

The growth of the new lava dome at Shiveluch volcano on 14 May (image: volkstat.ru) The extrusive eruption at the volcano persists. The recently formed lava dome continues to grow with magma rising into it. In addition, a visible glow suggests the ongoing formation of the new dome on the northwestern side of Molodoy Shiveluch. No significant ash emissions have been observed. The alert level for the volcano is Orange.
