Final demand prices advanced by 0.7 per cent in March and by 0.6 per cent in February. The April increase is the largest advance since rising by 1.7 per cent in March 2022. On an unadjusted basis, the index for final demand rose by 6 per cent for the 12 months ended in April, the largest 12-month increase since moving up by 6.4 per cent in December 2022. Nearly 60 per cent of the April rise in final demand prices can be attributed to a 1.2-per cent advance in the index for final demand services.
