When film director James Lucas had an idea for a film about the relationship between British super model Kate Moss and one of Britain's greatest portrait artists, Lucian Freud, he went straight to the primary source. “The whole project started out of me writing Kate Moss a letter, a good old-fashioned letter, outlining who I was. And I had this crazy vision for this very beautiful film about this relationship she had with Lucian Freud,” he told RNZ’s Nine to Noon.
