BC Transit and the Victoria Regional Transit Commission announced this week that there will be free bus services in Victoria on Wednesday, June 3rd. The free service is intended to offer an environmentally friendly transportation option on Clean Air Day. Clean Air Day, established in 1999 by the Government of Canada as a part of Canadian Environment Week, is an opportunity to raise awareness about air quality and climate change. In honour of the occasion, transit will be free all day for riders in the Victoria region, including handyDART users. This day of free transit for all riders also lands within GoByBike Week, for which BC Transit is offering free rides to all cyclists.
